This list is just our most-requested specialty products. As an independent agency, we have access to admitted carriers, surplus lines markets, and specialty programs for almost any insurable risk in Florida. Tell us what you need protected and we'll find a carrier.
Most specialty policies work alongside a core policy, not in place of it. A personal umbrella sits on top of your auto and homeowners. Cyber liability sits alongside your BOP or general liability. Builder's risk handles the project while your contractor GL handles your operations. We review the entire program at every renewal to make sure no coverage overlaps, no risk falls between policies, and you're not paying twice for the same protection.
Specialty markets are exactly where the difference between captive and independent agencies shows. A captive agent can only sell one carrier's specialty products, if they have them. We compare 15+ admitted carriers PLUS surplus lines markets, which is often the only way to find coverage for unusual risks: vacant properties, classic cars, short-term event coverage, drone operations, restaurants with full liquor service, and many others.
If you own a home, drive in Florida, have a teen driver, own a pool, or have meaningful savings or future earnings, a personal umbrella is one of the highest-value insurance products available. A $1M umbrella typically costs $200 to $400 per year and adds a full $1M of liability protection above your auto and home limits. One serious auto accident can blow through underlying limits in a single afternoon.
Yes. Ransomware and business email compromise attacks heavily target Florida small businesses precisely because they have valuable data but lighter security than enterprises. Average ransomware recovery costs for a small business now exceed $100,000 when you account for downtime, data restoration, and regulatory notification. A modest cyber policy ($500 to $2,000 per year) covers most of that.
Homeowners insurance is for owner-occupied homes. Landlord (or DP-3) insurance is for property you own but rent out. The two policies have different liability structures (landlord includes premises liability for tenant injuries), different contents coverage (landlord only covers YOUR property, not the tenant's), and different loss-of-rents coverage. Renting out an owner-occupied policy is a common gap that voids coverage when a claim is filed.
Sometimes equipment breakdown is included on a BOP, but often only at low limits. Florida businesses with significant HVAC, refrigeration, or production equipment usually benefit from raising the limit or adding a standalone equipment breakdown policy. A walk-in cooler failure on a 95-degree Tampa day can spoil $20,000+ of inventory in hours, plus the repair cost itself.
Often, yes. Many carriers offer multi-policy discounts when specialty lines are written alongside your core home, auto, or business policies. Some lines (umbrella, equipment breakdown, cyber, EPLI) are most often written as endorsements or companion policies for that reason. We'll model the bundled vs. standalone pricing on every quote.
